This networking event is aimed at connecting solicitors and female barristers practising in family law.  To recommend a female barrister, the solicitor or briefing entity needs to know who they are. We hope this event assists with forming such professional working relationships.

Guest speaker Kate Eastman SC.  Kate practices in the fields of human rights, discrimination and employment law. She currently chairs the law Council of Australia’s Equal Opportunity Committee, the Australian Bar Association’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and the New South Wales Bar Association’s Diversity and Equality Committee.  She is a Senior Fellow at Monash University, where she teaches international human rights law and advocacy in the LLM/SJD program.  Before coming to the Bar in 1998, Kate worked for several years as a Senior Legal Officer with the Australian Human Rights Commission, and before that, as a solicitor with Allens. In 2017, she was awarded the Change Champion Award by the Women Lawyers Association of New South Wales for her work on equitable briefing.

COST: Members free; Guest/Non-Members $20 pp (incl GST)
