‘First 100 Years’ – NSW women in law

Date(s) - 15/11/2017
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Union University and Schools Club

Next year marks 100 years since the Women’s Legal Status Act 1918 (NSW) was passed, enabling women to practise law and stand for parliament.

You are invited to the launch of First 100 Years (Australia) to celebrate.

The Law Society of NSW, in collaboration with the Women Lawyers Association of NSW and First 100 Years (UK), is proud to present First 100 Years – an exciting 12-month initiative commemorating this important centenary.

Enjoy drinks, canapés and great company while hearing from the Law Society President, Pauline Wright, and author, Anne McLeod. Anne will speak about her book The Summit of her Ambition: the Spirited Life of Marie Byles, which tells the story of the first female lawyer in NSW.

Register now to secure your spot. We hope to see you there.

Please note etiquette and dress code at the Union University & Schools Club.

Cost: $40 per person. Please click here for the flyer.  Please click here to book on line with the Law Society of NSW.
