Intellectual property lawyer Anny Slater says “…the established thought is that we are 50 per cent right brained and 50 per cent left brained. I subscribe to the theory that we should be 100 per cent in both…”

Anny is known for her successful disruption of sole practice which is recognised in the awards of 2009 WLANSW Woman Lawyer of the Year in Private Practice, 2015 Lawyers’ Weekly ‘Women in Law’ Sole Practitioner of the Year and placement on the NSW State Government’s Honour Roll for her outstanding achievements in law, arts and the community.

She is currently the editor of the IP section of the NSW Lawyer’s Manual and recently lectured at Oscar winner Michael Moore’s film school in Michigan.  She holds degrees in Law, Science majoring in Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Arts. She is also a Notary Public, a qualified mediator and a graduate of the Australian Film, TV and Radio School.

Her collective film work has played around the World, including at Yale University and the Chicago Institute of Art, and was recently inducted into the Australian National Collection at the National Sound and Film Archive. Her animated comedy works reportedly played to 30million plus Comcast subscribers in the lead up to the 2008 U.S. Presidential elections.

We’ve asked Anny to speak to the membership about her unconventional career and to share her insights on how to take the first steps toward a preferred career and personal success.

This speaker will be of particular interest to new members of the profession and members who consider themselves at a crossroads.
