Some tips from the seminar for those interested in working in this sector:
– Volunteer (eg. Legal Aid, Aboriginal Legal Service, CLCs), but be helpful, be reliable. Consider doing a block of time eg. 4 weeks rather than a day a fortnight
– PLT
– Go to court
– Be organic and open to opportunities
– Persistance – be ‘gig ready/game fit’
– Take admin jobs as they may give you local knowledge
