Change Champion of the Year, sponsored by The College of Law

Open to all women lawyers who have demonstrated passion for the growth and development of, and has shown
aptitude for identifying opportunities to improve, the profession for women lawyers.

Outstanding Law Firm of the Year, sponsored by Watts McCray Lawyers

The successful Law Firm will demonstrate a commitment to the advancement of women within the legal
profession by the introduction and implementation of policies such as flexible work arrangements, parental and family leave, gender equity in partnership and other managerial roles, observance of the Equitable Briefing Policy and the Charter for the Advancement of Women in the Legal Profession, and mentoring.

Woman Lawyer of the Year, sponsored by Thomson Reuters

Open to all current members of WLANSW (‘member’ includes individual members and staff of Corporate Members). Nominees will have made an outstanding contribution to the legal profession, provided leadership and demonstrated a genuine commitment to supporting and advancing women in the legal profession.

Private Practice Lawyer of the Year, sponsored by The Law Society of NSW

Nominees will be women that hold a current practising certificate and be working in a private law firm.

Corporate Counsel of the Year, sponsored by Thomson Reuters

Nominees will be women working either in government or for corporate entities or statutory bodies.

Community Lawyer or Academic of the Year, sponsored by Department of Justice

Nominees will be women lawyers working in a community, academic or not-for-profit organisation.

Barrister of the Year, sponsored by Carroll & O'Dea Lawyers

Nominees will be women that hold a current practising certificate issued by the NSW Bar Association and may be Senior or Junior Counsel.

Mentor of the Year, sponsored by Bartier Perry Lawyers

Open to all men and women lawyers who have demonstrated mentorship, advocacy and sponsorship of female talent that is invaluable to the development, promotion and retention of talent in the profession.

Rising Star of the Year, sponsored  by UNSW Law – Continuing Legal Education

Nominees will be women lawyers with less than five years in practice.

The Women Lawyers’ Association of NSW (WLANSW) supported by the Law Society of NSW, the NSW Bar Association, the Department of Justice, the Association of Corporate Counsel, Australia and the Workplace Gender Equality Agency, invite you to join us for our gala presentation awards dinner in recognising outstanding women lawyers, mentors and firms who have achieved excellence in their area of practice, while advancing opportunities for women in the law.

A Life Achievement award will also be presented and Life Membership honours announced.
