I am pleased to announce that the Law Society of NSW will continue as our Principal Sponsor, and we are delighted to invite you to join us and distinguished guests in celebrating the official launch of our biennial Awards at the Union, University and Schools Club at 5.30pm on 1st June. The event is free, however, bookings are essential and tickets are limited. Further details are noted below.
The President of the Law Society of NSW, Stuart Westgarth will be addressing our guests at our launch following a welcome by our Patron, the Hon Justice Jane Mathews AO. This will be a terrific night and we encourage our members and supporting organizations to register now as there is limited availability at the Union, University and Schools Club.
The Law Society of NSW’s generous support and financial assistance of our organisation will enable the continued funding of our administration and operations. Our increased resources will enable our committee to focus on preparing and hosting forums and events that best serve our objectives and your interests as members.
The Women Lawyers’ Association of New South Wales (WLANSW) are proud to announce that nominations for their 2011 New South Wales Women Lawyers Achievement Awards will be officially launched on 1st June. Please click here for the Nomination Form and note that the closing date is 31st July 2011.
The Awards, which celebrate the success and achievements of women in law, are supported by the Attorney-General’s Department of NSW, the NSW Bar Association, the Law Society of New South Wales, the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association, and the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency.
Five categories of Awards will be presented at a Gala Dinner to be held at 7:30pm on Friday, 23 September 2011 at the WatersEdge, Sydney:
Woman Lawyer of the Year in Private Practice;
“In House” Woman Lawyer of the Year;
Woman Lawyer of the Year in a Community Organisation;
Woman Lawyer Advocate of the Year;
Upcoming Woman Lawyer of the Year
This is a fantastic opportunity for lawyers to ensure that the accomplishments of their female colleagues are recognised in a significant way.
The Executive Committee of WLANSW welcome all nominations for outstanding woman lawyers, and encourage all to mark their diaries with the date and details for the 2011 Awards Gala Dinner.
