The Women Lawyers Association of NSW ('WLANSW') has been committed to improving the status and working conditions of women lawyers since 1952. Today we have a diverse membership including female pioneers of the legal profession, legal practitioners ranging from law students, solicitors, barristers and members of the Judiciary.
The WLANSW offers a meeting place which affords a unique intersectionality of women from all backgrounds, experience and legal status to meet, network and discuss issues of the day.
All members of the WLANSW have access to a wide range of innovative events, workshops and resources; in addition to continued advocacy for the advancement and betterment of women lawyers within the profession. AUSTRALIAN WOMENS LAWYERS (AWL)
Formed in 1997, AWL provides a collective national voice, a vehicle for communication and the sharing of ideas amongst the Associations. AWL is funded by each State and Territory Women Lawyers Association and WLANSW members are recognised as members of AWL and have voting rights.
